SANSA and NEOSS are co-hosting the conference with the South African Air Force (SAAF) with the aim of fortifying the theme of “Space for Inclusive Growth’’ across the national space value chain".
Delegates at the NSC were treated to experts in the field sharing the latest developments in Air and Space technologies for the benefit of South Africa through engaging keynote talks, panel discussions, showcasing, and technical sessions as well as networking alongside an array of space sector exhibitors.
The NSC aims to advance knowledge and information about space applications, infrastructure, operations, products and services to enable better decision-making and the advancement of society, the economy, and the environment.
SANSA CEO, Humbulani Mudau in his opening address said: Investment in space science and technology supports the objectives of Government and every citizen in addressing national challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality through the development of policy strengthening tools and products, necessary skills through human capital development and nurturing of a transformed and growing space industry.”
Success in space developments and activities requires strong strategic partnerships. “We must continue enhancing our capability to produce and manage Earth Observations. This will support SA in its efforts to increase food security, implement water management plans, and lessen the impact of climate change and solve many other challenges for the society. We must also keep making data available for better decision-making”.
