What the coverage says

Five observations from the year's record.

Commentary, not commerce

Eight of the sixteen stories carry Tourvest executives speaking on industry issues. Only three report a Tourvest commercial action, and the Wild Frontiers Uganda acquisition appears only inside the Tulia launch.

TDM is the brand

Nine of the sixteen run through Tourvest Destination Management and its divisions. No story in the year treats Tourvest Holdings itself as the subject.

One launch, no follow-through

Your Africa has a launch story and nothing after it. Tulia likewise, despite an acquisition attached to it.

A high lead-story rate

Five of sixteen stories sat in the headline slot — high for a 1% share of the year's output, and a sign the newsroom values Tourvest commentary.

The gap is fillable

June to August produced one story. Nothing was filed on winter trading, peak-season performance or Tulia's first months.

Method and caveats

  1. Web: the full body text of every published Tourism Update story in the window was scanned, not only headlines — which is why stories where Tourvest appears purely as a quoted source are included.
  2. Print: the same searchable text layer the site's own magazine search uses. 41 of the 42 editions published in the year are indexed; the one unindexed edition has no PDF.
  3. Print display adverts are mostly images, so a Tourvest ad is not counted unless it carries selectable text. 15% of pages have almost no text at all. Read the four print pages as editorial and advertorial coverage, not as a full advertising count.
  4. Editions published before 1 October 2025 are excluded even where they mention Tourvest.
